ECG Strip 08

ECG Strip 08 - third-degree AV block

85 years old patient has been admitted after syncope. The ECG (we have only record of leads V1-V6) shows bradycardia. In this case, I was not sure, if it is second-degree AV block (Mobitz I) or even third-degree AV block. I have marked P waves in lead V4 and they seem to bee totally independent on QRS complexes. However, the record is too short to decide. The patient suffered from severe dementia and bouts of confusion and that is why he could not have been monitored. Because the overall mental condition, the patient was not indicated for a pacemaker and therefore we did not further try to precisely state the arrhythmia type.
